Senior Computer Vision Researcher

About

Pablo Sala joined the Applied Sciences Group in 2011. He received MSc and PhD degrees from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto, where he worked on problems of visual robot navigation, perceptual grouping, and shape abstraction. He also holds a Licentiate degree in Computer Science from the University of Buenos Aires, where he worked on algorithms for solving large systems of linear equations with applications in computed tomography.

Pablo’s research interests are in computer vision and machine learning, particularly in object recognition, image segmentation, perceptual grouping and shape modeling, indexing, and matching.

In his free time, Pablo enjoys going out with his family, watching movies, and working on homebrew ham radio projects in his electronics workshop.
