About

Sarah Alamdari is currently a Senior Applied Scientist at Microsoft Research New England (opens in new tab), in Cambridge, MA working with the Biomedical Machine Learning Group (opens in new tab). Here, she uses artificial intelligence to design new proteins, with the goal of advancing human health. Recently, her work (opens in new tab) has focused on advancing generative protein language models by leveraging state of the art-machine learning methods and evolutionary scale training data.

Sarah completed her PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington as an NSF graduate research fellow under the supervision of Jim Pfaendtner where she applied and developed molecular dynamic frameworks to study the behavior of biomolecules at complex interfaces.
