Iason Sarantopoulos

About

I am a Researcher in the Cloud Infrastructure Group at Microsoft Research Cambridge working on robotic technologies for the cloud as part of CRAFT. My main research interests lie in the intersection of robot control and motion planning for grasping and manipulation, machine learning and software engineering.

I received my Diploma (BEng/MEng) and my Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2015 and 2021 respectively. In the past, I have been participated in three EU Horizon research robotics projects (RAMCIP, SMARTsurg and BACCHUS) and during 2015-2019 I have been working as a research assistant in the Center of Research and Technology Hellas.
