About
Yixi is a Data and Applied Scientist at Microsoft AI for Good Research Lab – a philanthropic team of data scientists and researchers dedicated to using AI, Machine Learning and statistical modeling to tackle some of humanity’s greatest challenges. Microsoft AI for Good Research Lab partners with leading nonprofits, research institutions, NGOs, and governments to accelerate work across the AI for Good program portfolio—Earth, Accessibility, Humanitarian Action, Cultural Heritage, Health—as well as other pressing issues such as affordable housing, broadband access, digital skills, justice reform, legal compliance, etc.
Yixi’s current research is mainly focused on the intersection of medical imaging/remote sensing and computer vision/machine learning/privacy in support of Microsoft AI for Health and AI for Earth initiatives. In addition, she enjoys collaborating with researchers with diverse backgrounds to provide proper insight into the true nature of a problem based on the limited data.
Before joining Microsoft, Yixi received her Ph.D in Statistics from Purdue University and her bachelor’s degree from Special Class for the Gifted Young at University of Science and Technology of China.
