Starting with SQL Server 2017, Microsoft embarked on a journey to support SQL Server deployments on Linux and containers, in order to provide a choice of deployment platform for our customers and partners. With the preview of SQL Server 2019, we announced new capabilities for deploying SQL Server with High Availability and Disaster Recovery on containers in Kubernetes.
