Enhancing interaction between people and technology
Technology should adapt to you—not the other way around. Our flagship mobile app, Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard for Android and iPhone, adapts to the way you type, so you spend less time correcting your typos and more time saying what you really mean.
Giving back
Professor Stephen Hawking
SwiftKey and the late Professor Stephen Hawking worked together to integrate SwiftKey technology into the scientist’s typing system, improving his ability to communicate. Professor Hawking had motor neuron disease, so he used a small sensor activated by a muscle in his cheek to type.
Click2Speak
SwiftKey collaborated with Israeli company Click2Speak, founded in 2009 by Gal Sont (1976 – 2016), a seasoned developer in the Israeli tech scene and a former extreme sports junkie. Gal launched the startup after he was diagnosed with ALS—a severe form of motor neuron disease—to help all people with special needs communicate more effectively.
SwiftKey Symbols
In 2016, SwiftKey released SwiftKey Symbols, a symbol-based assistive communication app targeted to non-verbal people with special needs. This project was developed during one of SwiftKey’s Innovation Weeks, and released as part of SwiftKey Greenhouse—a place where we grow new ideas, then allow our users to try them out for free.
