How to share photo albums online with your family

Whether you want to post images from your last beach vacation or a family member’s graduation, online photo albums make sharing your memories easy. Windows has a few options when it comes to sharing photo albums online. The Microsoft Photos app, which is part of Windows 11, is one option; Microsoft OneDrive, which allows users to store photos, videos, and other files in the cloud, is another; Microsoft PowerPoint is a third.

How to share photo albums online using Microsoft Photos

Microsoft Photos allows users to view, organize, edit, and share photos from a single gallery that syncs across devices. To create and share photo albums online using the photos you’ve imported into Microsoft Photos, follow these instructions:

  1. Open the Photos app.
  2. Select Albums.
  3. Select Create New Album from the menu.
  4. Select the photos from your photo library that you’d like to include in your photo album.
  5. If desired, edit the title of the photo album or change the cover photo.
  6. When your album is finalized and ready to share online, select Share the Album.

How to share photo albums online using Microsoft OneDrive

Microsoft OneDrive enables users to store photos and other files in the cloud and access them anytime, from any device. OneDrive is a great way to back up your photos and easily share them with friends and family. To create and share photos albums online using Microsoft OneDrive, follow these steps:

  1. If you haven’t already, download the OneDrive app for iPhone or Android. 
  2. Sign into your OneDrive account.
  3. From the main menu, select Photos
  4. Select New album.
  5. Create a title for your new album.
  6. Select the photos from your OneDrive library that you want to add to the new album.
  7. Select Add album
  8. To share the album, select the More button next to the album folder. 
  9. Select Share and pick from the sharing options—text message, email, and more. 

How to share photo albums online using Microsoft PowerPoint

Traditionally used to make and design slideshows, you can also use PowerPoint to create an elegant family photo album! To create and share a photos album with your family online using Microsoft PowerPoint, follow these steps:

  1. Open a new file in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  2. Select Insert.
  3. Select Photo Album.
  4. Select New Photo Album from the menu options.
  5. From the Photo Album dialogue box, select Insert picture from.
  6. Select File/Disk from the menu options.
  7. From the Insert New Pictures dialog box, find the file with the photos you want to add.
  8. Select Insert.
  9. Navigate to the Photo Album dialog box and select Create
  10. To share your photo album, select File.
  11. Select Share.
  12. Select Email.
  13. Under the Email dropdown menu, select Send as Attachment, Send a Link, Send as PDF, or Send as XPS.
