New white paper highlights how Microsoft Teams helps healthcare providers with HIPAA compliance

With the promise of collaboration tools, artificial intelligence (AI), and new device types to streamline clinician workflows, technology can significantly enhance healthcare. At the same time, fragmented systems and an overabundance of solutions, data, and devices make it complex to comply with industry regulations and protect electronic protected health information (ePHI) from internal and external threats.

To help customers achieve regulatory compliance, Microsoft continuously works to improve our compliance-related features and processes. For customers using Microsoft Teams, those same controls can also help address the requirements of HIPAA, so healthcare teams can communicate and collaborate with confidence.

HIPAA One, a leading HIPAA compliance software and services firm, provides tactical guidance as it relates to working with ePHI and maintaining HIPAA compliance. In their new white paper, HIPAA Compliance: Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams, HIPAA One reviews the security controls available from Microsoft and how they can help Teams customers with HIPAA compliance. This white paper was commissioned by Microsoft.

“The Office 365 and Teams white paper has been written as a turn-key document for executives, administrators, data security, and compliance professionals to implement and use immediately.”
—Steven Marco, CEO of HIPAA One
