In late September 2024, Microsoft officially welcomed nearly 30,000 Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts and roughly 600 Microsoft Showcase Schools for the 2024-2025 academic year. Educators accepted into these programs represent a dedication to transforming educational institutions with technology, innovation, and new skills. We’re elated to be in community with these educators and look forward to a year full of new connections and learning opportunities.

Join our community of MIE Experts
In the first half of 2025, you’ll have the opportunity to join nearly 30,000 educators in our MIE Expert community. You can get started by joining the Microsoft Learn Educator Center, where you can access free professional development and resources to support your growth as an educator! Once you join, start working to earn your Microsoft Educator and Advanced Educator badges.
Nominations to become an MIE Expert are expected to open in May 2025. Prepare for your nomination by learning more about how to join the MIE Expert program.
Join the Microsoft Showcase School program
If you’re a school leader who’s interested in joining the Showcase School program, please follow these steps:
- Find out where your school is on the transformation journey by consulting the Showcase School rubric and decide in which areas you’d like your school to grow.
- Learn about the Showcase School program engagement process.
- Fill out a self-nomination form for your school.
Note that all schools joining the program start on the incubator path to begin or expand their transformation journey. When a school reaches the Showcase School criteria, they can then apply to become a Showcase School.
